Horses are probably the one of the worst features on Skyrim. Not that the idea is dumb. No, it makes total sense that in a time of mead halls and war hammers that horses would be used for transportation. But I cannot stand how they made them in this game.

Maybe I’m a bit more critical since my last favorite game was Red Dead Redemption where fast horses can be ridden to the far reaches of the map and given apples to increase their stamina when necessary. In all fairness, in one of the loading screens they do give a warning that Skyrim horses aren’t very fast. I do agree that they’re very good on the terrain. There’s been plenty of times when I’m literally cutting corners avoiding winding paths by riding down treacherous rocks, and the horses don’t seem to mind.

But they die waaaay to easily. Especially to be 1000 coins and a very helpful tool when riding to towns you can’t fast travel to. I thought I could avoid their death by hopping off of them far away from my combat but the dumb things always feel the need to jump into the fight.

At first I thought that was pretty cute how they wanted to help me out. But they’re suicidal need to run up to bears or enemies became quite a hassle after the first couple of times the things died on me. Before I had gotten the game someone advised not to waste money on horses but I couldn’t resist. Now I completely understand.

Happy Friday, sexy gamers! I know you’re ready to party, watch movies, or just zone out in front of the TV screen (honestly, I’ve been doing that all day — Skyrim!) but I’ve been wanting to say my piece for a while then let it go.

I was really young when I started playing video games. My first console was a PS1 and I remember the main games I would play were Frogger and Tekken. I didn’t ask for a console, it was a family thing. Almost every weekend my aunts and uncles would come over for a heated Tekken tournament. It was so fun seeing everyone trying to beat each other so I quickly learned to play too.

Because I grew up in a family where my mother and aunts played gory games like  Tekken and Mortal Kombat, I thought gaming was just another fun past time. (My mother still plays with us to this day!)

It wasn’t until I got a PS3 that it was brought to my attention that this was not normal! Guys freaked when they heard me in a COD lobby and people flat out disbelieved that I could beat them at Soul Calibur…until I did. And I wasn’t (and I’m not) an anti-social tomboy either. I like makeup and shopping. Since I thought gaming wasn’t gender-specific in other people’s minds, it was as normal a hobby as painting my nails. 

It’s astonishing to me to see how gamer girls are treated. Guys (some; not my sweet blog followers) either discredit us or talk crudely. I dismissed it, thinking that those are the dweebs that don’t get out much and don’t know how to talk to women. But it’s interesting to see how gamer girls are treating each other as well. They’re like, how dare you try to be open about your gaming and not be hideous at the same time?! lol. It’s sickening. 

Anyway, I digress. I’ve been feeling very good lately and I’m tired of seeing all this vicious negativity.

Gamer Girls That Only Post Sexy Pictures And No Content - You’re better than that. If you’re not, you won’t go far in this world.

Gamer Girls That Feed Off Of Making Fun Of Those Girls - Get a life. If they’re fake, we’ll know it. You come off as looking jealous sometimes… =/
